Pakistani truck art is one of the world’s most vibrant forms of public art, transforming everyday vehicles into colourful moving canvases adorned with intricate patterns, landscapes, birds, calligraphy and Urdu poetry.
This exhibition by Rizwan Ali Dar explores the artistry of truck painting through intimate details, revealing the craftsmanship, textures, colours and visual rhythms that define this distinctive cultural tradition. Painted imagery, decorative motifs and flowing Urdu script combine to celebrate a living art form that carries stories, memories and identity across Pakistan.
Rizwan Ali Dar is a Birmingham-based documentary photographer whose work explores culture, community and everyday life in the UK and Pakistan.
